Statement of Purpose

The purpose of this blog is not, perhaps, the same as many other blogs of similar style and content.  Rather than publishing views that I hold true and dear, I intend this to function more as a forum to air thoughts that are not fully formed.  As many of you will no doubt have guessed from the title, I am about to embark on a PhD.  More specifically, I will be beginning a PhD in the History of Political Thought in October and see this blog as an opportunity to share ideas and be given feedback and criticism on my thoughts and writings by as large an audience as possible.  I hope that some of what you read will prove thought provoking and informative and I would be delighted if as many readers as possible would post comments and feedback to spur on discussion.
